It's launch day for one of the most highly-anticipated video games of all time. Join the character "Kirito" as he begins his journey in the virtual world of Sword Art Online.

It’s been one month since the players have been locked in the game. 2000 people have died; the first floor hasn’t been cleared yet.

Kirito has finally joined a guild made up of close friends in reality. Everything is going well until a tragic accident changes Kirito completely.

A player has been killed inside a safe zone and not by the known means. Asuna and Krito take it upon themselves to find out how and why this is happening.

Kirito has figured out the how and now he has to figure out the why.

A trip to get a new sword leaves Kirito battling a dragon and his fears.

After 2 years, people have got used to living in SAO, with a dwindling front line it might just be up to Kirito and Asuna to continue the charge.

To save a group of players and Asuna from a Boss character, Kirito is forced to play his trump card.

The newly married couple is enjoying their time away from the front lines. But a new guest will take them all the way back to the beginning.

Yulier, second in command, of the Liberation Army has approached Kirito and Asuna for help saving her friend and her guild.

While enjoying a fishing tournment Kirito receieves an urgent e-mail from the leader of the guild requesting their return.

Game over.

Kirigaya is adjusting to his life outside of the game, but he hasn't forgotten about Asuna. A recent visit to her in the hospital, he meets Sugou Nobuyuki.

A new MMO allows users to fly and encourages player killing. Kirito has joined this new game in search of Asuna and is pleasantly surprised with what he finds.

As Kirito learns about the game from Leafa and the hatred between the races, Asuna learns the truth of her role from the Fairy King.

Leafa is making enemies leaving her area and group to team up with Kirito. On their way to neutral Territory, they speak more of the rules and areas of the ALO.

Something isn’t right; Recon has sent Leafa a message “I was right. Be careful. S." What does he mean and will Leafa and Kirito have the time to figure it out?

Kirito and Leafa have made it to the meeting and Kirito’s bluff as an ambassador has been called out. If he can survive in a fight against the Salamanders General Eugene, his plan to prevent a war might work.

While Asuna continues her attempt to escape, another woman in Kirito’s life tries to make sense of her emotions.

Kirito’s determination to save Asuna borders on the insane. His reckless is stopped when Leafa suddenly logs out.

Even though a wall has been built between Kirito and Sugu, he must save Asuna. The next time he challenges the final dungeon he won’t be alone.

Kirito, Asuna, and Yui are finally together again, but the locks placed on Asuna are unbreakable. Before they have a chance to come up with a plan, the fairy king makes his grand entrance.

Kirigaya Kazuto has beaten death twice but there is one more thing he must do.

A year has passed since SAO was cleared. Summoned by Kikuoka of the Virtual Division at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Kazuto learns of a series of bizarre murders linked to the popular VR game, Gun Gale Online (GGO), the only game in Japan played by pros.

Armed with a large sniper rifle, Hecate II, the young girl Sinon is making a name for herself as the No. 1 sniper in GGO. When her squadron ambushes another squadron, she succeeds in taking out her first target. But when she takes aim at her second target, a robed “Behemoth,” he dodges the bullet.

In real life, the player Sinon is a high school student named Shino Asada. On her way home from school, she’s dragged into an alley by delinquent girls. Their leader, Endo, tries to extort money from Shino, but she bravely refuses.

Kikuoka has recruited Kirito to investigate GGO, and so he logs in. To lure Death Gun into targeting him, he hopes to enter Bullet of Bullets (BoB), a tournament to decide the most powerful gunman in GGO. But as a first-timer, he doesn't know his way around this game, and soon loses his way, when he catches sight of Sinon and approaches her.

To register for BoB, Kirito starts entering the required information into a terminal, but is astounded to see that the form includes columns for his real-world name and address. He is temporarily torn when he realizes that without this info, he won't be eligible for the top prizes...

A man in a beat-up cloak watches Kirito fight his first battle and demands to know if he's "the real thing". The man has the tattoo of Laughing Coffin, a murderer's guild that existed within SAO. He tells Kirito that he'll kill him someday, and vanishes.

The man in the ragged cloak is an SAO survivor, and he might also be a player Kirito fought with to the death... This thought consumes Kirito, and his anguish is palpable - to the point that it worries Suguha.

Kirito decides that Death Gun and the man in the cape will be appearing in BoB. He uses the remaining time to exchange information with Sinon and find out more about the contestants. Sinon sees how strange he was acting during the qualifier and asks him what happened. She learns that he is a SAO survivor. The main BoB tournament begins and 30 players are dropped in a 10km wide field.

The man in the cape shoots Pale Rider and he is eliminated despite the fact that he has HP remaining. The man says that he is Death Gun, and declares that he will bring true death. Asuna and her friends are watching a live stream of BoB and realize that Death Gun is one of the leaders of Laughing Coffin.

Sinon is attacked from behind by Death Gun and paralyzed. He's using a Black Star Type-54, ironically the same gun that Sinon used to shoot the robber. Her memories of the incident come flooding back and Sinon loses control, and Death Gun tries to kill her to make Kirito angry. But just before he can kill her Kirito saves her at the last second. Sinon is out of the fight, and Kirito tries to flee with her but is pursued by Death Gun.

After escaping from Death Gun, Kirito and Sinon lay low in a desert cave. There, Kirito speculates on how Death Gun murdered other players. In doing so, he hits upon a certain terrifying possibility.

BoB nears its end, and the only surviving players are Kirito, Sinon, and Dark Wind, the second place winner of the last tournament. Since Death Gun may have multiple partners, and Dark Wind may be in danger as well, Kirito decides to defeat him first. He acts as a decoy while Sinon snipes the enemy. Kirito's trust in her pays off as her bullet strikes true, and he finally faces off with Death Gun.

Death Gun's attack is modeled after Star Splash, a SAO skill that doesn't exist in GGO. Death Gun is skilled with not only a gun but a blade as well, and he gradually wears down Kirito's health. Meanwhile, Sinon's scope has been destroyed by Death Gun and she cannot attack, so she's forced to simply watch the fight. She grits her teeth and wonders if there's anything else she can do.

Kyouji attacks Shino, saying he'll kill himself after she's dead. Kazuto saves her at the last second by jumping Kyouji. During the fight, Kazuto is hit with Kyouji's poison syringe, but miraculously it doesn't work and Kirito is saved. The next day Kazuto and Shino go to meet Kikuoka, and discuss the incident. Kikuoka has a message from one of the captured Death Guns...

It's reported that the Holy Sword Excalibur has been discovered inside ALO. Hearing the news, Kirito and Leafa decide to take possession of Excalibur before other players get to it first.

Kirito and the others are tasked with subjugating the Frost King Thrymr, and a quest to recover Excalibur. It's Yui's guess that this isn't a quest planned by the game admins, but something automatically generated by the system. And if that's the case…

Kirito and the others are taking on Thrymr, the Boss lurking at the bottom level of the dungeon. But unable to make much of a dent in Thrymr's HP, they soon find themselves in grave danger. Just then, their new ally, Freyja, raises her voice…

In an upcoming update of ALO, Floors 21-30 of New Aincrad will be unlocked. Asuna, Kirito and Yui revisit their dream of once again living together in their log cabin on Floor 22.

Hearing rumors about a brilliant player known as Zekken, Asuna decides to mount a challenge. But when Asuna logs out, she is told by her mother to take an exam to transfer into an academically oriented high school.

Asuna is asked to help the guild “Sleeping Knights,” which has decided to disband soon due to the members’ circumstances. Before they do, they want to defeat a Floor Boss with only their party.

Asuna and the Sleeping Knights’ attempt to defeat the boss on Floor 27 has been observed by a guild specializing in boss raids. Now 20 of its members block the boss room. With Kirito stalling the rest of the guild, can Asuna and the others break through?

A few days have passed since Yuuki suddenly disappeared from in front of Asuna, and she still hasn’t logged in to ALO. Later, Asuna meets Kazuto on the school roof, where he hands her a note and tells her Yuuki might be at the location written on it.

As a tester for the world’s first medical-use Full-Dive device, Yuuki has been diving into virtual worlds from the hospital. Unable to leave her hospital room, she longs to go to school again. To make that wish come true, Asuna asks Kazuto for help…

Getting to experience the outside world, Yuuki’s days are more satisfactory than ever before. In ALO, the players have a barbecue and end up on a quest. In the real world, Asuna and the girls take a trip to Kyoto. One day, Asuna receives an email…

Setelah rutinitas biasa mereka menebang di Gigas Cedar, Kirito dan Eugeo bergabung dengan teman mereka, Alice, dalam perjalanan yang mengubah takdir ke gua terdekat.

Kirito terbangun di lingkungan yang asing. Namun, meski ia curiga berada dalam sebuah permainan, ia tak bisa keluar. Ia lalu bertemu bocah seusianya bernama Eugeo.

Kirito harus menebang habis Pohon Iblis agar ia dan Eugeo dapat menuju ke kota besar bersama-sama. Pedang yang ia temukan mungkin dapat membantunya.

Kirito melawan para goblin, tetapi pemimpin mereka terlalu kuat baginya. Eugeo harus menaklukkan ketakutannya dan membantu Kirito sebelum terlambat.

Kondisi Kirito terlihat tidak baik dan Kikuoka memindahkannya ke rumah sakit lain. Namun, ketika Asuna dan Suguha menjenguknya, mereka ditolak masuk.

Asuna dan Rinko mendesak jawaban dari Kikuoka. Ia mengungkapkan tujuan sebenarnya dari percobaan Dunia Bawah dan alasan keterlibatan Kirito.

Dua tahun berlalu, dan Kirito serta Eugeo kini adalah murid di akademi ilmu pedang, tempat mereka harus menghadapi beberapa siswa senior yang sulit.

Sortiliena memperingatkan Kirito bahwa permintaan Uolo untuk duel langsung terkait dengan motif tersembunyi. Kemudian, Kirito menemukan bunga-bunganya telah dihancurkan.

Bahkan setelah kenaikan tingkatnya, Eugeo masih mencari cara untuk menjadi lebih kuat. Sebuah peluang muncul dengan sendirinya dalam wujud siswa terbaik, Humbert.

Sementara Kirito pergi mencari Ronye dan Tiese yang hilang, Eugeo mendengar sesuatu yang meresahkan dari Frenica dan memutuskan untuk menghadapi masalahnya sendirian.

Eugeo mengenali kesatria yang menahannya, tetapi sang kesatria tampaknya tidak mengenalinya. Sementara itu di dunia nyata, sebuah robot aneh muncul.

Eugeo dan Kirito melawan Kesatria Integritas Eldrie, yang sepertinya mirip seseorang. Eugeo menggunakan pengetahuannya soal dunia nyata demi kepentingannya.

Penyelamatnya Kirito menceritakan kisah masa lalu antara ia dan Administrator, dan mengatakan Kirito & Eugeo bisa mengembalikan ingatan Alice dengan membantu rencananya.

Kirito dan Eugeo menemukan pedang mereka yang dicuri, di gudang senjata. Namun, ini bukan waktunya merayakan, karena Kesatria Integritas, Deusolbert, menyergap mereka.

Eugeo dan Kirito lanjut menyusuri Katedral Pusat dan bertemu dua gadis kecil yang tampaknya tidak berbahaya. Namun faktanya, mereka tidak seperti yang terlihat.

Setelah pertarungan berakhir, Kirito seketika lebih mengkhawatirkan Fanatio daripada dirinya sendiri, dan melakukan segala upaya untuk menyelamatkan Fanatio.

Kirito dan Alice berada dalam situasi genting. Kirito mencoba meyakinkannya untuk bekerja sama saat ini, tetapi Alice masih melihatnya sebagai penjahat.

Bercouli Sintesis Satu menyatakan ia tidak akan membunuh Eugeo saat pertama kali mereka bertarung, tetapi janjinya tak diulangi ketika Eugeo menyerang lagi.

Alice memutuskan untuk mendengarkan Kirito, tetapi memilih untuk mempercayai kebenaran ucapan Kirito bukanlah perkara mudah. Sementara itu, Eugeo terbangun di lantai 100.

Setelah terbangun, Alice menyebut jalan lain ke pemandian di lantai 90. Ia dan Kirito segera bertemu kembali dengan Bercouli, yang telah berubah menjadi batu.

Alice menyaksikan dua sobat masa kecilnya saling bertarung. Kirito berusaha sekuat tenaga memunculkan Eugeo yang asli, tetapi pertarungan berakhir secara tak terduga.

Pertempuran melawan Raksasa Api tidak berjalan baik dan Kirito memutuskan mengubah taktik. Administrator mempelajari sesuatu yang penting tentang Kirito.

Setelah ratusan tahun, sang Kardinal kembali untuk menyelesaikan semuanya selamanya. Administrator mengungkap kebenaran yang mengejutkan tentang Golem.

Eugeo dan Alice keluar dari komisi, dan Kirito harus menghadapi Administrator yang sangat kuat sendirian. Administrator punya beberapa kejutan untuknya.

Meskipun menjalani beberapa bulan yang berat, Alice berhasil menjalani hidup damai dengan Kirito di pedesaan. Seorang tamu mengancam mengganggu kehidupan baru mereka.

Goblin dan orc melancarkan serangan yang mengancam kelangsungan hidup Rulid. Alice terbang untuk menyelamatkan mereka, tetapi terpaksa membuat pilihan yang menyakitkan.

Pertahanan siber yang solid di kapal menghentikan para penyerbu hingga pemimpin mereka, Gabriel, mengalihkan perhatiannya ke Dunia Bawah dan seorang gadis bernama Alice.

Setelah mengendalikan tentara Wilayah Gelap, Gabriel bersiap untuk berperang dengan Kekaisaran Manusia. Sementara itu, Vecta asli menghadapi bahaya dari semua penjuru.

Alice dan Kirito bertemu dengan pasukan, tetapi kondisi Kirito masih buruk dan gerbang timur tidak akan bertahan lama di hadapan musuh mereka yang berjumlah besar.

Gerbang roboh dan pasukan Wilayah Kegelapan berjumlah besar menggunakan segala cara untuk menyerbu tanah manusia, perlahan menguasai lawan mereka yang lebih terorganisir.

Renly lari dari pertempuran dan menemukan Ronye dan Tiese, bersama dengan kesempatan untuk menebus kesalahannya. Sementara itu, Alice terus mengerjakan bom laser.

Setelah bom laser mendatangkan malapetaka bagi musuh, Alice menemukan penyintas berpangkat tinggi. Tentara manusia mengalihkan perhatian untuk menarik perhatian Vecta.

Vecta memerintahkan pasukannya mengejar Alice, yang menyebabkan pertarungan antara pejuang yang bisa menebas apa pun dan pejuang dengan tubuh yang tidak bisa ditebas.

Sebagai Stacia yang sangat kuat, Asuna menstabilkan situasi dan bersatu lagi dengan Kirito. Setelah Alice menemukan mereka sedang bersama, segalanya menjadi tak menentu.

Pasukan umpan menemukan bahwa Vecta mengirim pasukannya melintasi jurang. Sementara itu, Critter menggunakan penipuan untuk mengumpulkan anggota-anggota baru Amerika.

Asuna sangat ingin menghentikan kelompok-kelompok pemain Amerika di tengah pembantaian massal dan kekacauan yang terjadi di kedua sisi. Vecta bersiap menangkap targetnya.

Sinon masuk ke akun super Solus dan bertemu kembali dengan Asuna dan Kirito. Kemudian, Leafa bertemu dengan pemimpin orc Lilpilin dan setuju untuk menjadi tawanan.

Karena makin banyak temannya yang datang, Asuna bersiap mendorong mundur para pemain asing. Sementara itu, Higa punya ide untuk membantu Kirito, tetapi ia perlu bantuan.

Sinon datang dan memberitahu Alice yang putus asa bahwa ia harus terus ke selatan menuju Altar Akhir Dunia. Sementara itu, Asuna melihat sesosok bayangan di atas.

Berkat Higa yang menjadi pendengar yang baik, Yanai dapat menyingkirkan kekhawatirannya. Sementara itu, Sinon mengalami masalah saat menghadapi Subtilizer di Dunia Bawah.

Kirito yang lemah hampir tewas di tangan Vassago, tetapi selamat karena kemunculan mendadak duo yang tak terduga.

Saat Kirito menghadapi kenangan masa lalu yang menyakitkan, Asuna beradu pedang dengan Vassago, yang menjelaskan obsesinya terhadap Pendekar Pedang Hitam.

Dengan menghunus Pedang Langit Malam dan Pedang Mawar Biru yang patah, Kirito berjuang melawan serangan golok Vassago. Namun, tak lama kemudian Kirito menerima bantuan.

Asuna dan Alice bergegas pergi menuju Altar Akhir Dunia sebelum tempat itu ditutup. Kirito tetap tinggal untuk melawan Gabriel agar para gadis dapat pergi dengan aman.

Mempercayakan Alice kepada Rinko, Asuna tetap berada di Dunia Bawah. Sementara itu, Higa dan Kikuoka harus bekerja dengan cepat untuk mematikan fase akselerasi maksimum.

Rinko mengadakan konferensi pers untuk mengumumkan kecerdasan buatan sungguhan pertama. Alice dengan cekatan menjawab semua pertanyaan sulit dari para wartawan.

Mendengar Alice hilang, Kazuto buru-buru meninggalkan rumahnya. Namun, ia dihentikan oleh sebuah paket tak terduga: kotak besar dengan isi yang mengejutkan.
